All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 can receive school meals at no cost to you. This is a universal entitlement for all infant aged children. This is extra money for the school, provided by the government, to pay for targeted support for learning.
Entitlement to Free School Meals for children in school in Year 3 and above is not universal. You will need to make a separate application and your eligibility will be dependent on the benefits that you receive.
You must be in receipt of one of the below benefits to be eligible for a Free School Meal for your child/children.

From 1 January 2015, schools across England are legally required to ensure milk is made available during the school day to all pupils in receipt of free school meals. This is because milk is an important part of children’s diets.
At Holne Chase free milk is available to ALL children at lunchtimes.
Water
Children are allowed unspillable water bottles in the classroom as long as they are used sensibly and only contain water. All classrooms have access to drinking water if needed. Bottles must be taken home each evening so that they can be thoroughly washed.
Nuts
Can we please request that parents do not send in any food items to school containing nuts as we have children with severe nut allergies. Thank you for your co-operation.
