INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Celebrating Diversity and Equality.

Curriculum – Throughout our curriculum we learn about and celebrate people’s differences focusing on building positive relationships throughout our community. Our curriculum reflects the diversity of the school within our RE, PSHE and Wider Curriculum areas.

Protected Characteristics – Through assemblies and PSHE, the children learn about equality and the nine Protected Characteristics. Children are articulate in promoting equality and the importance of treating everyone equally and build strategies of how to tackle discrimination.

Celebration Days – Throughout the year, we celebrate diversity and equality in a variety of different ways. We celebrate religious and cultural festivals including Diwali, Chinese New Year, Black History Month and Pride.

Real-Life Experiences – We enhance our diversity curriculum through the visitors we have in school and the trips our children get to attend. Children have the opportunity to have cultural workshops where they learn about cultures from around the world, including traditional dances. Children will also attend different places of worship, developing an understanding of the different religions within our school community.

Reading Books – We have invested in a range of high-quality books celebrating diversity for the children to read. This includes our unique Reading Spine, in which each year group have set texts that are read to them by adults in school. These include key themes celebrating diversity including Disability, LGBT+ and stories from different cultures.

OUR SCHOOL
Welcome to Holne Chase Primary. We are delighted that so many parents are selecting Holne Chase as their first-choice school, testament to the hard work and resilience of the team, our Trust colleagues, and the broader school community.
Our

Trust

Our Trust offers the region’s very best learning environments, opportunities and experiences, to staff and pupils in five schools (outstanding, good, new and improving) located in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.

Our unique blend of Fun, Creativity and Achievement, underpins everything we do to deliver high standards of education in all our schools, with brilliant schemes of learning creating real and lasting improvements. This year the percentage of children reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths was significantly higher in the Trust’s schools than nationally.

OUR STORY
A school for the whole family

A proactive member of the community in Bletchley since opening in 1952, we are a school for the whole family, with a committed and highly skilled teaching staff, led by brilliant new headteacher David Killick.

We believe learning is a partnership between home and school and, since joining Preston Hedges Trust, have transformed the early years provision to embed a ‘best practice’ reading scheme and prioritise learning through creative play.
